Namaste!!!

I am finally home…. Yeah, that’s what my mom was saying when I first told her I would be involved in managing the International Congress in India. For those who still won’t believe it, I really don’t have origins from India however I always feel honored to actually be considered Indian. Indian women are very well known for its beauty, wit & practicality.

About 3 years ago I was supposed to come to India, but for some unforeseen circumstances at that time’s political stability of India, I was not allowed to travel to India. Yet, that interest in finding out more about India didn’t stop me somehow in the hope of not just finding a long lost root maybe, but as well just enjoying the culture and vibe that it has brought with me throughout the years.

Sometimes you grow up with some prejudices put on by the society you live in, but I am happy to have really been able to widen my horizon and perspectives in many different areas. Even way before India has reached its boom in economy, I have already discovered great individuals in AIESEC, who embody great values with amazing attitude. In my first international conference abroad, it was not a surprise that the Philippine delegation were very much in connection with the Indian delegation. From then on, the story goes on with me somehow finding my so-called “brothers and sisters” from India whom I am able to just be able to work with on a personal level.

This time, it’s not just about relating with the people from India, but being in India itself. It might have taken me years, and I must say that I do feel like home. The warmth of the home that gives you great hospitality, practical values, enormous smiles and a whole lot more. I have been here for just a week, seeing the contrast of living in a 5 star hotel for the conference, and the actual city to where people really live to exist. Such contrast I shall be dwelling more when I am able to see more of the city after this amazing conference, within which I am seeking a one week journey around Incredible India.

The road trip continues

The next destination for my road trip was France. It has been about a month ago since that wonderful trip and the weeks just passed by so quickly that I look back to that time just like yesterday.

It's quite amazing to discover such nice place in France and definitely it's not just Paris that's a main attraction. What started as an urge to be in a sunny place, and perfect place could have been south of France, we ended up in a surprise location in the northwest coast of France. Due to time constraints we just decided we had to go somewhere that's still sunny and has beaches, and our fingers pointed to St. Malo as we were looking at the map of France. We really had no idea as to what exactly to see there except for some information from the website but everything was part of the adventure.

I think the photos will just show you how magnificent place it was and really just made us chill out even for 3 days. For more details on nice photos you can check my online photo album here:

Apart from going from one country to another, my life has been like a highway with so many things happening in such short time. Transition party, Outgoing teamdays, Final transition sessions, AIESEC International 0405 term ending, job & traineeship search International Congress intensive preparation, visa & vaccinations to India... All of these in just 3 weeks!!!
At the same time, highways are still interesting when you find time to look at the horizon: the blue skies, green fields, and fast cars. So despite the fast lifestyle I have been going through on a daily basis, I think that's important to spend time to just take a few minutes of silence to think through for yourself. We started having this during our Monday Morning Meeting as well as this Wednesday afternoon, and I realized how much 10 minutes can be so meaningful, only if we put our time for it. :)
